LOVE this question! okay, after much consideration...
1) Twilight (and i'd jump around to new moon and eclipse:)
2) Pillars of the Earth
3) The Other Boyln Girl (the dresses, the intrigue, such fun! would just need to not get on Henry's bad side)

1)Pride and Prejudice, I'd love to live in Mr. Darcy's house and have sisters.

2)Book of Luke in New Testiment, be fascinating to be on the earth at that time in history.

3)Gone with the wind, I want to be Scarlet (even though her life is kind of tragic)

As per my second choice, I want modern conveniences, none of that fetching my own water junk.

Wow! This is hard...I read a lot getting my degree in English...a lot of weird stuff.

1.) I totally agree with Pride and Prejudice...totally bummed that someone already picked it. To be different, I will then say Sense and Sensibility. But, I am still in love with Darcy.

2.) Anne of Green Gables. Yes! Yes! Yes! Amy, you totally chose one of my favorite heroines of all time. Once again, to be different I guess I'll suggest that waking up to play with Ramona would be fun (if I could also shrink back to being 8)....so Beverly Cleary's Ramona.

3.) I think perhaps The Canterbury Tales? Interesting people. A little bawdy...I like bawdy.

P.S. What a fun idea...you are so clever! I may steal this for my blog.

Lanie, Jamie, and Amy, I just got in from a fun and busy day and it was so much fun to read all your books and reasons. I've got to question Melanie's plague desire, though. Sorry Girl. If I could wake up with you each of you I'd ... be at Henry's court (hopefully with my head still atached) with Melanie, one of Jamie's sisters at the Darcy castle, and feeling relaxed and peaceful with Amy in S&S. You should totally put this on your blog. It's been fun.

OK wait!!! I want to play too! Only I don't have lots of time to think about which books. I have GOT to finally get in BED! Here are three, not in any particular order and given that Pride and Prejudice AND Anne of Green Gables are already taken....

1) I'm with Jamie, New Testament times, but I will say, The Robe or the Silver Chalice. But I don't want to be anyone who dies and I'm not carrying my own water either.

2) Socerer's Stone (Harry Potter). I want a wand...and a different use for my broom.

3) Dragon Song...don't remember the author. I want my own dragon. :)

Quirky aren't they?

Very fun and clever, JenJ. I want a magic wand, too! As far as dragons go I really liked Puff when I was a kid.

Well you see, about the dragons, in the Dragon song, dragon singer and dragon drums series of books, the eggs hatch and the dragon picks you and then you sort of raise it and always know what it is thinking, and of course it flies and takes you everywhere....it has been a LONG time since I have read these, but I used to love the idea. And you should know I was 12 when I read them. :)
